Cabin Kits & Building
Q: What cabin kits do you currently offer?
A: Sheltrix (8x8) – Our compact A-frame shelter designed as a smaller, survival-focused form of a cabin. The Sheltrix is not a tent but a sturdy, insulated structure built for essential shelter and dignified DIY housing. It provides a portable, weatherproof space ideal for off-grid survival, emergency needs, or basic living arrangements, with room for a single bed and simple setups. While we plan to expand to larger cabin options in the future, the Sheltrix 8x8 is currently our only product, offering the core features of a cabin in a more accessible, compact size (64 sq ft).
We also offer discounted bundles for multiple Sheltrix cabins:
Twin Survival Pack: 2 cabins with 5% off, priced at $18,050.
Off-Grid Trio: 3 cabins with 7% off.
Homestead Compound: 4 cabins with 10% off. These bundles are ideal for larger projects, community builds, or expanded off-grid setups.
Q: What comes with a cabin kit?
A: Pre-cut lumber, fasteners, hardware, subfloor, roofing, waterproofing materials, a pre-hung door, a window, and a step-by-step assembly guide. Tools are not included.
Q: Do I need to be a professional builder?
A: No. With two people and basic tools, most cabins can be assembled in a few weekends.
Q: How long does it take to build a cabin?
A: Sheltrix (8x8): Typically a weekend or two.
Q: Can I customize a cabin kit?
A: Not at this time.
Q: Are cabin kits insulated?
A: Yes, floor, walls and roof.
Q: How do I set up utilities like electricity, propane, or solar in my cabin?
A. For now, we do not include pre-installed electrical, propane, or solar setups in our cabins. Customers can add their own systems after delivery. However, you assume full responsibility for ensuring safe and code-compliant installation. We recommend consulting licensed professionals to meet local building codes and safety standards.
Payments & Financing
Q: How do I pay for a cabin kit?
A: Anderson North offers payment options to secure your order and delivery scheduling.
For single Sheltrix cabins:
Full Upfront Payment: Pay the total price at checkout to start production immediately.
Sheltrix (8x8): $9,500 This option minimizes wait times (typically 4-6 weeks, depending on demand) and locks in your kit with a single transaction.
Non-Refundable Deposit Plan: Pay a $5,000 non-refundable deposit to secure your materials, labor, and build schedule. This deposit applies toward the total purchase price, with the remaining balance due before delivery:
Sheltrix (8x8): $4,500 remaining (total $9,500) Once production begins (typically within 1-2 weeks of deposit receipt), the deposit becomes final and non-refundable to cover custom ordering and preparation of your built-to-order kit. This option makes cabins more accessible by lowering the initial cost while supporting our business's sustainability.
For bundles (Twin Survival Pack, Off-Grid Trio, or Homestead Compound), deposits are not accepted—full payment is required at the time of purchase.
Q: Do you offer financing?
A: Anderson North LLC does not offer in-house financing, but we do provide a Partial Payment Option to make our cabin kits more accessible. Customers can begin their build with a $5,000 non-refundable deposit, which secures materials, labor, and a production slot. This amount is applied toward the total purchase price of $9,500, with the remaining $4,500 balance due within 45 days of the deposit date and before delivery.
If the balance is not received within 45 days, the order will be automatically canceled and the deposit forfeited. All payments can be made securely through Squarespace checkout or QuickBooks invoices.
Customers are also welcome to seek financing through their own bank or credit union if they prefer to split payments externally.
