The story of Anderson North LLC began long before the company was founded — it started in Berkshire County, Massachusetts, back in 2017, when founder Ashley Anderson built her first A-frame prototype as a college student at the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts. Surrounded by the mountains and creative energy of the Berkshires, Ashley envisioned a survival-ready, do-it-yourself cabin for people who believe in building their own future. That early vision became the foundation for SHELTRIX — durable, insulated, flat-packed A-frame cabins that empower anyone to build their own space with dignity and independence.

Anderson North LLC was later established by Ashley Anderson — a builder, creative visionary, and crisis worker dedicated to creating practical, affordable, and dignified housing solutions for people who want more than shelter — they want independence.

The company is named in honor of Ashley’s great-grandfather, William Anderson, a businessman in early-1900s rural Georgia who exemplified resilience and determination. William poured his heart into his work, saving to buy his own buggy — a symbol of progress, ownership, and self-sufficiency. His legacy of perseverance and purpose continues to guide Anderson North’s mission today.

Born in Moultrie, Georgia, Ashley grew up surrounded by people who made things happen with their own hands. That upbringing — grounded in faith, work ethic, and community — shaped her lifelong belief that independence is built, not given. After earning an associate degree in Electronic Media from Holyoke Community College in 2016 and a bachelor’s in English Communication from Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts, she combined creativity with purpose. Early experiences in theater design and media production sparked her passion for hands-on building — a skill that evolved into accessible design through Anderson North.

In 2022, Ashley began working as a crisis worker, supporting individuals through some of life’s most challenging moments. Seeing the human side of the housing crisis — where homeownership felt unreachable for so many — inspired her to create real, affordable solutions. From that purpose, Anderson North LLC was born.

Today, Anderson North builds SHELTRIX — pre-cut, bolt-together A-frame cabin kits designed for off-grid living, backyard offices, guest cabins, or new beginnings. Every cabin is a testament to resilience, made for people rebuilding their lives, simplifying their path, or seeking self-reliance.

But Anderson North is more than a company — it’s a movement. A reminder that what you build with your own hands can restore both faith and freedom. Guided by the slogan,
