Who we are
Anderson North LLC was founded by Ashley Anderson, a builder and creative visionary who believes that true strength begins when people build something of their own. What started as a small idea—designing simple, insulated cabins for self-reliant living—has grown into a mission to give people the tools and confidence to create their own space, no matter where they are in life.
Ashley created Anderson North with one purpose: to make dignified, durable housing accessible to everyone. Each cabin is designed for resilience and self-reliance, built for people rebuilding their lives, simplifying their path, or seeking peace and independence in their own space.
The name Anderson North carries the legacy of Ashley’s great-grandfather, William Anderson, a businessman in early-1900s rural Georgia. He embodied independence and perseverance, saving until he could buy his own buggy—a symbol of ownership, freedom, and forward motion. His story reminds us that progress is earned, not given, and that legacy lives on in every cabin we build.
Born in Georgia and raised between Massachusetts and Georgia, Ashley grew up surrounded by people who worked with their hands, led with faith, and created opportunities from limited resources. This upbringing shaped her values and vision for Anderson North—a company built not just on wood and steel, but on heart and purpose.
Ashley earned her associate degree in Electronic Media from Holyoke Community College, where she began building stage designs for college plays, learning how creativity, structure, and storytelling unite through hands-on design. She later earned her bachelor’s degree in English Communication from the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts, honing her ability to connect ideas, people, and craftsmanship through purposeful work.
In the fall of 2022, Ashley moved from Massachusetts to Maine, where she now works as a crisis worker throughout the state. Through years of helping others find stability and hope in this role, she has witnessed firsthand the housing issues that often hinder progress—seeing how the lack of safe, affordable space stands in the way of rebuilding lives. Drawing inspiration from Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs theory, which emphasizes shelter as a fundamental necessity for human well-being, Ashley merged creativity, design, and construction into something lasting: accessible, dignified housing that empowers people to build their own future. Anderson North was born as a solution—an answer to a need that goes deeper than shelter, addressing the basic necessities that form the foundation for self-actualization.
Today, Anderson North offers two models—the SHELTRIX A-Frame and the SLANT Mono-Slope Cabin—both rooted in one simple belief: that ownership, creativity, and self-determination are the foundation of freedom.
Anderson North is more than a cabin company. It’s a belief that what you build with your own hands can restore both faith and freedom. Guided by the promise: “This is yours, and you built it.”
Anderson North stands for creation, strength, and the power to build your own North.
