Who we are

Anderson North LLC was founded by Ashley Anderson, a builder and creative visionary who believes true strength begins when people build something of their own. What started as a simple idea—designing insulated, practical cabins for self-reliant living—has grown into a mission to give people the tools and confidence to create their own space, no matter where they are in life.

Ashley created Anderson North with one purpose: to make dignified, durable shelter accessible. Each cabin is designed for resilience and self-reliance, built for people rebuilding their lives, simplifying their path, or seeking peace and independence in a space they can truly call their own.

The name Anderson North carries the legacy of Ashley’s great-grandfather, William Anderson, a businessman in early-1900s rural Georgia. Through discipline and perseverance, he saved until he could buy his own buggy—a symbol of ownership, freedom, and forward motion. His story is a reminder that progress is earned, not given, and that legacy is built through work, patience, and intention. That same spirit lives on in every cabin Anderson North creates.

Born in Georgia and raised between Massachusetts and Georgia, Ashley grew up around people who worked with their hands, led with faith, and created opportunity from limited resources. That upbringing shaped the values behind Anderson North—a company built not just from wood and steel, but from purpose and integrity.

Ashley earned her associate degree in Electronic Media from Holyoke Community College, where she designed stage sets for college productions and learned how creativity and structure come together through hands-on building. She later earned her bachelor’s degree in English Communication from the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts, refining her ability to connect ideas, people, and craftsmanship through clear, intentional work.

In the fall of 2022, Ashley moved from Massachusetts to Maine, where she now works statewide as a crisis worker. Through years of supporting people during moments of instability, she has seen firsthand how the lack of safe, affordable shelter can prevent progress. Drawing inspiration from Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs—which identifies shelter as a foundational requirement for well-being—Ashley combined design, creativity, and construction into something practical and lasting: cabin kits that empower people to take the next step forward with dignity.

Today, Anderson North offers three core models—the SHELTRIX A-Frame, the SLANT Mono-Slope Cabin, and the SOLID Box Cabin—each designed with a shared philosophy: efficiency, resilience, and the belief that ownership and self-determination are the foundation of freedom.

Anderson North is more than a cabin company. It’s a belief that building something with your own hands can restore confidence, stability, and direction. Guided by a simple promise:

“This is yours—and you built it.”

Anderson North stands for creation, strength, and the power to build your own North.
